Even though I don’t get to see you or speak with every one of you, I have missed interacting with you big time. And I hope you did the best that you could to get the most of what was available to you over the holidays with your families.
I can’t say I had the best closing of 2020 nor a good start in 2021. I was severely tested and got my butt kicked more ways than one. Victory was a dismal distance away, for my entire world was engulfed in fogs and misery. For ten days, I had the displeasure of facing all of these enemies.
π· chills
π· fever
π· body aches
π· sore throat
π· headaches
π· dizziness
π· nausea
π· loss of taste
π· shortness of breath
π· low oxygen
π· chronic fatigue
I knew not what day it was except to deal with each symptom as it occurred. It was as if all the symptoms got together to play the knock, knock game. “Knock, knock. Who’s there? Chills. Chills who? I’m gonna chill you to the bone.” And so it went, one after another.
However, I am happy to say that I am clear of all symptoms as of the writing of this blog. I would like to give a big shout out to four extraordinary people who literally brought me back to life.
To Denisa and her mom. For their relentless effort and kindness in making sure we have endless supplies of food and medicine.
To Steve. For his medical expertise.
To my beloved husband for devoting his days and nights catering to my needs.
In times of need, I am just so grateful to have such wonderful people who went out of their way to bring my health back And I want to give credit to where credit is due.
A little flashback to the end of 2020, thank you for your kind words and enthusiasm on the mental strength training workshops for players and parents. It makes me very happy to know the resources provided in the workshops are practical in your tennis journey as a competitor or as a leader of the team. The initial plan was to resume the workshops in January. For the obvious reason for my recovery, my first workshop to ring in 2021 will start at the end of February. Please stay tuned for more details to follow shortly.
That’s it for now, my friends. I am sending my very best wishes to y’all.
